Happy New Year to you all, and I do hope that you had a good Christmas. At least three members will have had a very different one - Jodie Cherry and Natasha Flowers will have been very thrilled to have Ellen and Bethany safely with them. Jo Levett, on the other hand, would have been wondering if she would have Christmas at home or in hospital! In the event Ruby arrived on 27th December. Congratulations to you all, and I do hope that you are getting enough sleep!!
In no time we shall have teams out competing in the Dressage and S.J. Winter Qualifiers. British Riding Clubs have brought out new standards for Hats & Body Protectors for 2012. Our Team Managers are aware of these so please make sure to find out d etails from them. This is most important as it would be so disappointing to arrive at a competition excited and "ready to go" only to be ruled out because your Hat or Body Protector did not conform to these new standards.
Last year we ran the Area 5 Open Dressage Qualifier and made a small profit. This year we have again been allocated the Eventer Trial Qualifier, and I am hoping that we will make a good profit so that we can continue subsidising our Rallies/Clinics & Team Entries at the same level as we have managed to date. Your help will be needed for this, and it would be a great help if members would volunteer without having to be chased!! Anne Jefferis has agreed to find the Fence Judges so please get in touch with her to offer your services -Tel. 01327 260 621 or Email anne.Jefferis@btinternet.com. - she will be delighted to hear from you.
Fiona Gifkins is again running a Camp for Area 5 from 18th-20th May. We hear that the Area is likely to contribute towards the cost of the instructors. Camp has been much enjoyed in previous years, and I do hope that it will be well supported by our members.
Jan Funnell has booked Cropredy Village Hall for Monday, 30th July so that we can get together to watch the X.C. from Greenwich on a big screen. Family & Friends will be welcome. The idea is for everyone to bring a picnic & drinks and enjoy a "good fun" day together. We shall ask for a small donation towards the hire of the Village Hall. At the appropriate time there will be a slip to return to Jan.
Members who have renewed their subscription for 2012 may be wondering why they have not yet received their British Riding Clubs Membership Cards. They are no longer sent by Club Secretaries, but will be sent direct to you from Mosaic Print Management during the third week of the month. Your details must be at Stoneleigh by the 14th of the month to get your card in that month. Don't lose it - another will cost you £5!! GOOD RIDING!
